The news has been pretty forthcoming about the state of Chicago Public Schools these days. The truth is, it affects all of us, even my own kid.
Many of you may know that our family was distraught over the limited arts education available publicly in school. In response, my dear husband opened the Color Wheel Studio down the street. Forgive me while I digress. I am supremely proud of him.
Back to the lemons at hand…In order to teach our school’s kids about how they can help make a difference, we’ve organized lemonade stands throughout the neighborhood with proceeds benefiting the classrooms. We will be hosting our own lemonade stands in the coming weeks during each Sidewalk Sale.

After more than seven strong years with the Paddywax collection, I’ve decided to go exclusively local with our candles.
Come next month, Virtu will begin stocking three series of candles from our dear friends at Crash. They’re the folks that make Snow & Graham’s candles, ZUZ candles, and something that I have been dying to tell you about for two months now. The wait is almost over my patient friends. We’ll debut a brand new series in just a few weeks. Hold tight and stay tuned….
